Description
Transoral robotic oropharyngectomy is a common surgical procedure performed for en-bloc resection of the oropharyngeal tumour. In this video, we present a surgical clip illustrating the step-by-step resection of a patient with left tonsillar cancer. The various transoral surgical landmarks during the resection are presented to indicate the resection boundaries of oropharyngectomy. Additionally, we introduce an artificial intelligence model to recognize the transoral surgical landmarks during the surgery. Its augmented surgical feedback can be used to guide surgeons in recognizing these key transoral surgical landmarks in real-time and avoid untoward complications of resection beyond these boundaries.
