We describe a robotically assisted urethroplasty technique for the treatment of recalcitrant Bladder Neck Contracture (BNC) and Vesicourethral Anastomotic Stenosis (VUAS). The procedure begins by transecting the bladder neck and circumferentially excising dystrophic tissue. A bladder flap is created by making a cystotomy in the anterior bladder wall which is anastomosed to the urethral stump to form the vesicourethral anastomosis (VUA). This allows for a robust anastomosis supported on all sides by healthy tissue margins even in hostile operative fields. Short- and medium-term data shows this procedure offers durable patency in recalcitrant BNC and VUAS with low morbidity.
