Description

Robot assisted Video endoscopic inguinal lymph node (RA -VEIL) dissection is being
increasingly performed for inguinal lymph node staging in clinically node negative(cN0)
patients with carcinoma penis (CaP). However, data on its long term functional and
oncological outcomes in patients with palpable groin lymphadenopathy(cN+) is sparse. We
were previously performing RA-VEIL via conventional approach but with modifications. In
this video, we demonstrate our new unique technique of RA- VEIL by lateral approach
highlighting technical modifications.
We are doing this new technique from November, 2021. Since then upto March, 2022 we
performed on 9 patients with median lymph node yield of 15 and lymph node positivity rate
of 33%. Mean operative time (60 mins) significantly less than our earlier technique (90
mins). Median drain duration was 23 days. No patient had flap necrosis. 5.8 % had significant lymphedema.
