Judging Process
  • Procedure Track and Technology Track entries:
    • Judging commences September 16, 2026 
    • Procedure Track and Technology Track entries are evaluated against other entries within the same track
    • All entries are judged and assigned a score based on set criteria and ranked before advancing to the next round
    • Round I identifies the top 1/3 of the submissions
    • Up to 50 top ranking entries, combined from both tracks, will be eligible for People's Choice voting
    • Round II identifies the top 10 submissions for each track
    • Round III (final round) identifies the top prize winners 
    • Judges are comprised of a group 3rd party, global subject matter experts, surgeons, faculty and medical students 
    • Submissions will be judged against criteria of creativity, originality, educational content, and technical standards (editing, sound, and picture quality).

 

  • People's Choice Public Voting:
    • Up to 50 total entries advancing to Round II judging will become eligible for public voting
    • Voting infomation will become available closer to the voting period
    • Anyone wishing to vote will be required to register on ksa.vattikutifoundation.com

 

  • Vattikuti Innovators Challenge:
    • All medical students registered in the Vattikuti Explorers program are eligible to compete
    • Top entries will be invited to present at Vattikuti Foundation Innovation in Medicine Summit in Miami, USA, April 10-11, 2025
    • Final judging will be based on the live presentations at the Summit
    • Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony dinner in Miami on April 11, 2026
    • More information regarding the competition will be posted on vattikutifoundation.com

 

  • General Information:
    • Cash prize awards by advancing through Judging Rounds I, II and III 
    • Eligibility for public voting for the People's Choice Awards
    • Presentation at Vattikuti Foundation Innovation in Medicine Summit
    • Awards Ceremony to be held in Miami, USA April 11, 2026
    • The final decision of award-winning entries lies with the independent international jury
    • Entries may be selected for up to three different categories:
      • Cash prize awards by advancing through Judging Rounds I, II and III 
      • Eligibility for public voting for the People's Choice Awards
      • Presentation at Vattikuti Foundation Innovation in Medicine Summit
    • Prize winners must be present at the awards ceremony - Saturday, April 11, 2026 in Miami, USA - to receive cash prizes
